1. Can you explain the difference between the two competitions?
THE BIGGEST LOSER:
FOR PEOPLE WITH 20% OR MORE OF THEIR BODY WEIGHT TO LOSE
4 WINNERS WITH THE HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF WEIGHT LOSS WIN:
TOP 2 MALES (1ST PLACE - $2,000, 2ND PLACE - $1,000)
TOP 2 FEMALE (1ST PLACE - $2,000, 2ND PLACE - $1,000)
FOR PEOPLE WITH 10 - 20% OF THEIR BODY WEIGHT TO LOSE
EVERYONE WHO LOSES AT LEAST 10% OF THEIR BODY WEIGHT WILL GO INTO A DRAWING TO WIN ONE OF THREE $500 PRIZES
Each competition requires two official weigh-ins to take place at Pinti Physical Therapy. One at the start of the competition (must be completed by March 4th) and one at the end of the competition. Final weigh-in dates will take place sometime in late June or early July. Dates will be announced soon.
2. Why are there two competitions?
A. We know people have a wide range of weight to lose and wanted to try to encourage everyone to achieve their health and weight loss goals through some friendly competition and prizes. For someone who has only 10% of their body weight to lose, compared to maybe someone who has upwards of 20% or more, creating a fair competition would be more difficult, so we tried to capture both sets of individuals.
3. I have some weight to lose, but not a lot. Am I eligible?
A. In order to enter the competition, you must have at least 10% of your weight to lose, meaning if you were to lose 10% of your current weight you would have to fall within the healthy weight range on the BMI chart. If losing 10% of your weight would cause you to drop BELOW the healthy weight range, unfortunately you are not eligible for the competition. For reference, we will be using the BMI chart from the American Cancer Society’s website. https://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancer-causes/diet-physical-activity/body-weight-and-cancer-risk/adult-bmi.html
4. Can I win both competitions?
A. No. If you win first or second place in the Biggest Loser competition, you will not be entered to win one of the 10% Takedown prizes.
5. What if I am not available to weigh-in when the final weigh-in dates are announced?
A. We will have a minimum of a one week window to get everyone weighed in at the end of the competition and will make every effort possible to get you in during a time that works for you. However, you must do a weigh-in at Pinti Physical Therapy to be eligible to win.
6. What can I expect when I come to weigh-in?
A. You will need to bring a driver’s license with your home address and you will be asked to stand on a scale which will be read and recorded by one of our volunteers. We would also like to take your picture, but that part is not a requirement
7. Who will see my weight?
A. Only the person weighing you in and a few other administrative members of Healthy Nutter Fort will see your weight. However, if you are one of the Top 2 Male or Female winners of the Biggest Loser, we will reveal your starting and finishing weight at the awards ceremony.
8. I am ready to sign up! How do I do that?
A. You can sign up via our website at www.healthynutterfort.com. After signing up, you will then need to head to Pinti Physical Therapy during the hours listed below to complete your registration. You are not registered until you have completed your weigh-in.
